Event Description
A country only relatively recently opened to tourists, but one well worth visiting, even if on a somewhat "controlled" approved route. Once described as "A land of gold, populated by a deeply religious and dignified people, and with more temples than Britain has parking meters!" Learn why this country, then known as Burma, was the first country that Sue ever heard about as a child.

- Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (a recording will be available)
Sue Ablett is a great traveller, having visited all continents and loves talking about her trips. Her career included a mix of jobs, from Russian Linguist to Executive Director of a national children’s cancer charity, pulling in a PhD ‘just for fun’ along the way. Now retired she is Chair of Evesham Festival of Words, an avid litter picker, and, despite the advanced years, still a keen distance runner. She also enjoys cycling, dog walking, gardening and splits her life between Leicestershire and Evesham.
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
