What do you need to become a Mirthy host?
A good quality camera and microphone.
An excitement to try and learn new things.
Speakers will be paid £75 for every booking and each booking will be a live Zoom talk followed by a Q&A, unless otherwise specified.
Talks should be around 50 minutes long to allow time for a 10 minute Q&A, keeping the event within the hour.
We will continue to use the pre-recorded talks for our Free Thursday events. These events won’t have a Q&A and you won’t need to be available at the time of the viewing - which is good considering some are at 4am for our NZ audiences!
We will also use pre-recorded talks for our McCarthy Stone and NHRSF audiences. These events will have a live Q&A following the screening of your talk.
Speakers will be paid £75 for these events.
If you have already given a talk with Mirthy and are a confirmed Mirthy speaker, you simply need to send Abbie a title and c. 100-word description (email@example.com) of the talk you want to add to the catalogue. I will be in touch with any questions and we can schedule a Zoom call if needed.
Clubs can continue to book speakers through our website. Speakers will receive £75 for each club booking. These bookings will be live on Zoom, followed by a Q&A session.
Most speakers will present their talk accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. On Zoom, you can share your screen so that the audience will be able to see both your video and your slides.
There will be a training session on Monday 28th June 3 - 4:30 pm . For an invitation to this event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Mirthy speakers are the highest quality speakers. They are confident and comfortable in front of a camera, highly knowledgeable on their chosen topics, and warm yet informative public speakers. Within our community of public speakers, there are performers, tour guides, presenters and toastmasters providing a huge variety of styles of presentation.
If you are interested in becoming a Mirthy speaker, please send an email to email@example.com detailing the talks you offer (titles and c.100 word descriptions).
How to apply?
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org outlining what kind of event you want to host and any relevant experience you have. We welcome applications from everyone of all levels of experience. If you feel like you want to try something new, get in touch! We’d love to hear from you.
We particularly welcome applications from women and those from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, as women, BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented among our hosts.
