Event Description

A resident of over thirty years from colonial days to Xi Jinping, explains the history of this unique place: from a barren rock with hardly a house upon it, to a booming city of seven million, and the focus of world attention at the time of the Handover in 1997. The talk concludes with a consideration of the current crisis in Hong Kong and the part that the UK is playing to protect its former subjects.
