Playing outside from dawn til dusk, calling for your friends, dodging your little brother or sister, begging your mum for just five more minutes. No computers, no televisions, no mobile phones...children made their own entertainment and played outside in all weathers. Make sure you're in good voice to share a few skipping and hand-clapping rhymes as we recall some of the best-loved games of our childhood years.

Meet The Speaker, Kath
Kath's library role allowed her the opportunity to develop her passion for reminiscence work. Together with a colleague from Stoke-on-Trent Museums, she wrote an OCN accredited course, "Delivering Reminiscence". This course was very successful and she delivered it for more than six years. She describes herself as "keenly interested in people; their lives and their communities". Her talks and reminiscence sessions reflect a great many years of collecting stories, memories and musings from the people of Staffordshire and surrounding counties. She is always vigilant to research and verify "facts" - although she often share the "facts" which are clearly fiction... purely because they are entertaining!
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
