Introduction to the author:
Abbie Greaves studied English Literature at Cambridge University before working in a literary agency for a number of years. Her first novel, The Silent Treatment, tells the story of a couple called Frank and Maggie who have been married for the past forty years but who haven't spoken for the last six months. She was inspired to write the novel after reading a newspaper article on her commute, about a boy in Japan who had never seen his parents speak to one another before. Her second novel, The Ends of the Earth is out now and has been described as 'a tour de force' [Katie Fforde] and 'the standout love story of 2020 so far' [The Sun]. Abbie lives in Cambridge with her partner, John.
In this event, Abbie - Community Manager- will speak to Abbie about love, loneliness, and connection in August's Book of the Month 'The Silent Treatment'.
