Count Zeppelin always envisaged his airships as transport craft as well as war machines. In this fully illustrated talk we will look at airship travel, from the pioneering days before World War One to the luxurious heyday of the “Graf Zeppelin” and “Hindenburg”. We will see how Great Britain tried to match the Zeppelin and how the United States built a flying aircraft carrier and why, ultimately, the great airship was doomed to failure.
