Belly dancing has become increasingly popular in the West, not only for entertainment but for fun and fitness. As a professional belly dancer and tutor of Middle-Eastern dance, Shelley has taught this art form for over 30 years, with classes on cruise ships and fitness clubs, for all ages and ability, but particularly for the over 50's to improve mobility, posture, and confidence whilst learning dance routines and veil work. Shelley takes a look at the origins of oriental dance, and the history and culture of this graceful and exotic art form that has evolved over the years into many different styles.

Meet The Speaker, Shelley

Shelley Lozano has worked professionally as a cabaret artiste and entertainer for over 30 years which has taken her as far afield as Europe, Kathmandu, India and the Middle East. She is now an author and radio presenter with a weekly wildlife show and through her work, helps raise awareness and funds for endangered wildlife and offers fun and entertaining talks for a variety of functions and events.
