Malcolm Meadows

Meet the Host, Malcolm

Malcolm began his career as a pharmaceutical apprentice at the age of 15 in 1948, the same time as the introduction of the National Health Service. Following his graduation with a degree in Pharmacy, his work took him to many parts of Britain including 17 years in Salisbury where he was very much involved with the Cathedral and life of the city.

Throughout his career, Malcolm has always had a keen interest in Art, History, and Music so following his retirement he was able to develop these interests to give illustrated lectures to numerous local groups including Rotary, U3A, and WI’s, and for the past 6 years has also given presentations on Cruise ships with Saga and Fred Olsen, sailing to exotic destinations around the World. His presentations are always compiled for as wide an audience as possible and include an amazing collection of images and usually incorporate musical interludes to accompany the subject.

A very interesting talk. I had a slight interest in Alfred Sisley before, having looked at some of his paintings of the River Thames. I also saw a painting of his in an exhibition of impressionists at the Royal Academy. This talk brought these two strands together so I now know much more about Sisley. I love his paintings. Thank you very much.
