I’m glad I found you. I said this to my wife - without Mirthy, my life would be far less richer than it is now.

Event Description

We all want to age well. But can we, as individuals, increase our chances of a good later life? Maggy Pigott, will be discussing how we can achieve this, based on her personal experience and what she discovered whilst researching her successful book ‘How to Age Joyfully: Eight Steps to a Happier, Fuller Life.’

Maggy will explain the ‘what, why and how’ of living better for longer, and share some practical tips.

And, as highlighted in this Festival of Belonging, you will discover that connecting with others is one of the most critical ingredients for a life well lived.

  • Duration: 60 mins
  • Online Zoom event: Join from your computer, phone or tablet (a recording will be available)

Meet the Host, Maggy Pigott

Maggy Pigott will be celebrating reaching 71 in June. Having qualified as a barrister, she enjoyed a 37-year career in the Civil Service, retiring in 2011 with a CBE.

Over the last decade she has developed passions for dancing, writing and helping others age better, including through her role as Vice Chair of the London charity, Open Age (www.openage.org.uk ).

This inspired her first book, 'How to age Joyfully' (with a Foreword by Dame Judi Dench) published by Summersdale Ltd, when she was 68.

Her other interests include volunteering, and having fun with family and friends .

Preparing for the Event

For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!

If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.

Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?

Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy your Mirthy event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
