The Lake District: A Celebration and a Warning

Talks/Lectures

Event Description

The Lake District is one of the most beloved regions of Britain, not only for its unique scenery but also for its impact on our national consciousness through luminaries such as Wordsworth, Ruskin, Turner, Beatrix Potter, and Alfred Wainwright. However, the Lake District faces enormous challenges from climate change to Brexit, as the sustainability of this unique landscape is under serious threat. The talk concludes with a slideshow of the lakes through the seasons with photos taken over fifty years.

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
