Beatrice Nicholas is a captivating Pianist whose performances are full of imagination, freedom and beauty. Aged fourteen, she was admitted to the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music and during her time at the Junior Department, Beatrice won the institution’s major prizes for piano and represented the Department as a composer. At eighteen years, Beatrice went to the Royal Academy of Music, studying piano with Patsy Toh, composition with Elena Langer, and won the Royal Academy of Music’s Eric Brough Memorial Prize for Piano. She plays repertoire ranging from Bach to the present day and has performed in the UK's leading venues. Her music engagements take her around the UK, Germany, Poland, Thailand and the Czech Republic. Notable venues have included the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House, London Coliseum, Berlin Konzerthaus, Saddlers Wells Theater, Leeds Town Hall and Snape Maltings. Beatrice believes that music is a powerful tool of communication and enjoys using it to lift and engage the human heart.

Clear view of the Pianist and piano. For me I was observing her technique playing the piano, motion of hands and timing, very interesting. Beautifully played. Very accomplished pianist. I am always amazed the memory of concert pianist, so I was glad someone asked that question. A soft, relaxed and confident voice, pleasant to listen to. First zoom piano concert for me, great.

The event was hosted beautifully and it was so nice, and an unusual treat, to have the opportunity to engage in conversation with Beatrice after her recital. Something you don't get to do at a 'live' concert. Beatrice was a very engaging pianist and played her programme sensitively and warmly. I am tempted to see if I might tackle the second of the Gershwin preludes, which looked to be the easiest!. Lovely selection of pieces for a hot afternoon to cool us down, at least until the energy of Tchaikovsky was unleashed at the end! I was hoping that Beatrice would give me some secrets on how to remember pieces without using the music … something I find it hard to do. So nice to know that someone who has not been to a specialist music school - until they got to a London college after finishing their State system education - can do so well. Beatrice deserves her success and I wish her all the best in any forthcoming tours she undertakes. I look forward to hearing her again in the autumn, as promised!

Wonderful host and music - enjoyed every minute. Enhanced by static camera showing Beatrice’s hands.
