Event Description

Learn the basic blueprint and techniques for a visually effective, naturalistic, floral design while engaging with this mindful, nature-based activity. Chelsea will lead you through the selection, prep, and conditioning of fresh flowers as she teaches you how to incorporate floral meditation and practice into your week. Her easy to follow steps will teach you the most effective composition techniques for home flower arrangements. The Jam Jar Flower Arranging Workshop, will lead you through an effortlessly natural composition you can make with the simplest of ingredients and in the most sustainable way.

You are welcome to sit back and take notes, or, if you want to participate, please have the supplies below:

Flower recipe and supplies:

A pair of flower or garden clippers (scissors will do in a pinch)

15-20 stems of greens, flowers, herbs, or branches

A small drinking glass or jar

Meet the Host, Chelsea Fuss

A native of Oregon, Chelsea Fuss is a floral instructor, floral designer and author, living in Portugal. Embracing wild and untamed flowers, her floral styling and flower arranging classes have been commissioned by major brands from Kinfolk to Google. Fuss champions foraged and homegrown flowers in her sustainable floral practice. She is the author of Field, Flower, Vase: Arranging and Crafting with Seasonal and Wild Blooms with Abrams Books. 

Preparing for the Event

For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).

We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!

What if I can’t make the event?

If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.

Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?

Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy your Mirthy event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.

How do I watch the live event?

Mirthy events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
