Celebrating Diwali - How to make Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun (known also as Rasgulla) is a delicious Indian delicacy enjoyed at Hindu celebrations, including the auspicious Diwali. It is a delightful, milk-based treat, soaked in a warm spice-infused syrup. Gulab Jamoon makes for a perfect dessert, so good, it's impossible to eat just one!

Join us, cook along with us, and do ask questions as we make this luscious dessert. Here’s what you’ll need.

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups powdered milk

4 tsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup evaporated milk

2 tbsp Ghee, or unsalted butter

4-5 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Syrup:

1 1/2 cup water

2 cups granulated sugar

2-3 tsp grated ginger

3-4 cardamom pods OR 1 tsp ground cardamom

1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Duration: 1 hour

Recipe makes 10-12 servings
