- DURATION 60 mins
Starting our journey in Kolkata, we travel by rail up to the hill and tea country of Darjeeling - 2 hugely contrasting destinations. India is a wonderfully colourful country, bustling and chaotic. Love it or hate it, you certainly can't ignore it. By contrast we then visit the beautiful and rarely visited Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, a country that rates Gross National Happiness higher than Gross National Product! This is a talk of colour, temples, stunning scenery, mountain railways, and so much more.

Meet the Host, Sue
Sue Ablett is a great traveller, having visited all continents and loves talking about her trips. Her career included a mix of jobs, from Russian Linguist to Executive Director of a national children’s cancer charity, pulling in a PhD ‘just for fun’ along the way. Now retired she is Chair of Evesham Festival of Words, an avid litter picker, and, despite the advanced years, still a keen distance runner. She also enjoys cycling, dog walking, gardening and splits her life between Leicestershire and Evesham.
Preparing for the Event
For the best experience, you will need to have Zoom downloaded onto your computer. Please ensure you're connected to broadband/wifi rather than using your mobile phone connection (3G/4G).
We also recommend that pets are either calmly sitting on your lap or in another room, and any refreshments you may require are within your reach!
What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy your Mirthy event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Mirthy events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
